Welcome to Chloe's Gecko's Questions & Answers

Who Am I ?

Hello, my name is Chloe and I live in Barnsaple, North Devon in the UK. I am 10 years old and I have had leopard geckos for a year and a half. I have managed to breed my gecko's, but more of that later............

Basic vivarium set up, feeding and exercise

My vivarium has a log in it and two tubes along with a drinking saucer (which they also bath in!!). The tank is two and half foot (36 inches) long and has alot of air vents. I have one humidaty thermostat and one heat thermostat. There is a heat mat on one half of the tank so they have one hot area and one cold. As substrate I use fine calci sand in the hot area and wood chip in the cool side. They seen to like the set up rather well.

I feed my geckos 15 black crickets a day so they both can share and I put calcium dust on the crickets to keep my geckos healthy. I don't feed my geckos crickets if their bigger than their head as theGeckos will find it hard to eat them otherwise!!

For exercise I take my geckos out of the vivarium for half an hour every day. When they are being handled they keep me company. They will sit on top of my head and roam about on my shoulders and hide in my hair. They are really cheaky aswell.

Echo & Derek

These are my leopard gecko's. The one above is Echo she is 15 months old and the one below is Derek and he is 1 year old. They are both a bit camera shy.

Breeding your Geckos

I have successfully bred my leopard geckos, and so far produced three clutches of eggs and have hatched three baby geckos. When they breed the can get violent with each other. My female gecko suffered a nasty bite on top of the head durind a mating session.
